As we age, most of us will notice a mild to moderate change in the tone, texture and vitality of our skin. This is due to the gradual depletion of vital substances such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. When we start to see these changes, it can be disheartening and no matter what we use topically to help our skin, such as expensive moisturisers or lotions, it can get to a stage where fancy creams alone aren’t going to offer the dramatic improvements we are seeking.
Do more for your skin! Non-surgical treatments are now commonly recognised to help restore the skin’s vitality. Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid skin remodeling, injectable treatment which is rivalling certain traditional dermal fillers and can significantly improve the skin’s hydration and plumped look without over-filling the skin, offering extremely natural-looking results. Mandie Dransfield is one of the most experienced users of Profhilo Cheshire has to offer; she loves using this ‘injectable moisturiser’ to rejuvenate and revive the skin.

FAQs
How is Profhilo® different?
It’s important to know that Profhilo is not a dermal filler but is considered more like an injectable skincare as it has a lower viscosity to most HA dermal fillers (a thinner consistency). Therefore, if you want to see a significant improvement in the plumpness and firmness of your skin without the volumization of traditional dermal fillers, this would be the treatment for you.
What areas can Profhilo treat?
Due to the very high concentration of HA in Profhilo, the quality of the skin tissues can be significantly improved making it a superb treatment to use as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other injectables such as wrinkle-smoothing injections.
Profhilo can be used in the following areas:
- Face
- Hands
- Elbows
- Knees
- Décolletage
When will I notice a difference?
This depends on your individual response to treatment. You may notice results after around 4 weeks following your first treatment but many patients see an improvement after 1 or 2 days. Some people find that they don’t see an improvement until after their second treatment but optimum effects will be seen at around 8 to 10 weeks after the initial treatment.
Is Profhilo® safe?
Profhilo was first launched in February 2015 in Italy and has been used, globally with over 150,000 patients treated so far with no adverse reactions or side-effects reported. Profhilo is made from an ultrapure and natural hyaluronic acid with no chemical cross-linking (thickening) agents, which significantly reduces the risk of adverse reactions. As HA is a naturally occurring substance within the body, it is very well tolerated by the skin. The only possible side-effects may be slight swelling, localized lumps, redness or tenderness at the point of injection which is quite natural for any injectable treatment and will subside within a few hours.
How does Profhilo® work?
Profhilo works by harnessing the slow release of hyaluronic acid (HA) over 2 treatment sessions. Injections of the HA substance are administered at 5 localised points around the area of concern. This stimulates 4 types of collagen and elastin and after 2 sessions, a month apart, you can expect to see tighter, more toned and more revitalised glowing skin with reduced lines and wrinkles. If you have a significant amount of skin ageing which needs intensive treatment, another ‘top up’ session may be required around 6 months after your initial course.
