Laser Rosacea Treatment

Rosacea is a common skin condition which most often appears between the ages of 30 and 60 and is usually visible on the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. People with rosacea often find they suffer from facial thread veins as the skin is red and flushed. Red veins and red flushing can be a cause of real concern and distress. Unfortunately, rosacea is a chronic condition however, with our medical-grade Lynton IPL treatment we can create a personalised treatment plan to help to get your rosacea under control.

FAQs

What to expect during treatment?
To begin the treatment we will cleanse away any makeup or skincare and apply a cold gel on the area to be treated. The handpiece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied to the skin’s surface in gradient movements.

Protective eyewear will be supplied.

How does intense pulsed light (IPL) work on rosacea?

People with Rosacea have many facial thread veins which dilate to certain stimuli (eg hot bath or spicy food) and stay open for longer periods of time compared to non-Rosacea sufferers. These thread veins have weaker walls and therefore do not function properly.

Intense Pulsed Light treatment has been shown to be very effective in the treatment of Rosacea. It works by a process called photothermolysis. This light therapy selectively destroys the abnormal vessels (thread veins) that cause the Rosacea effect, allowing thicker walled micro vessels to be laid down.

I have rosacea- what treatments are available?

Rosacea can vary considerably from one patient to another, treatments must always be tailored to individual needs. Your doctor or GP will be able to advise you on the various oral and topical medications. Often, a course of anti-biotics followed by on-going topical treatment is recommended. Your doctor will be able to discuss the possible benefits and side effects of prescribed medication.

Intense Pulsed Light is a drug free alternative which has shown to be extremely effective at getting rid of thread veins which cause the Rosacea effect.

Customer Testimonials

I finished my 3 C02 treatments in March and I am really pleased with the results.  I am in my mid 60s, so wasn’t expecting miracles!  It took another couple of months after the treatments finished before I really noticed an improvement  - the lines on my face have softened considerably and my skin is much brighter and clearer.  So many friends have told me how healthy I look but more importantly I feel much happier and confident. I am very impressed with the Lynton Clinic and Kirsty who did my treatments.

Susan Barrington- Smith

After a bad experience at another laser clinic, I was advised by a friend to see Kirsty at the Lynton Clinic. Kirsty is very professional and extremely knowledgeable. It is clear she has been treating patients for many years. The Clinic is immaculate and all staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. If you need a tattoo removed, then I suggest you book in with the Lynton Clinic.
